I am a Montclair resident for years. Incredibly, this place keeps getting worse and worse. I swore this place off in college after consistently getting served lousy food, but recently (feeling nostalgic) I made the mistake of coming back for one more terrible meal. Let’s suspend disbelief for a moment and forget how dirty the place is and let’s also pretend the service was good. For its part, the food was so bad that it is almost beyond description. Salad tasted as bad as it looked. The French onion soup was disgusting and the first bite into the over-cooked filet initiated my gag reflex. I hate A-one steak sauce, but the meat was so bad that I had to smear it on just to get two more bites down. My friend tasted and had same nauseating response. The meat was not fit for human consumption (on my word, I didn’t even take it home for my dog). If you want a good steak, take the short trip to NY. Otherwise a McDonald’s patti will do a substantially similar job of satisfying your beef desire at a fraction of the price.

Ate hear 7 years ago, ban then, bad now
Two rooms, one like an overlit diner, the other like a tired pub with multiple flatscreens. A large variety of tastelss items on the salad bar. Steaks had the mush texture of frozen meat. Undersalted and peppered, asked for pepper grinder that was empty, was then told that they were out of peppercorns! Service was uninspired but fine, J. Lohr Cab at $18 a great value and the one good thing about this restaurant. Will definitely not return.

They overcooked the steaks! It's a steakhouse, right? Terrible service, watered down drinks, will never visit this chain again.

Very poor service and lack of caring by staff that we were even there. Food VERY mediocre and atmosphere bland. Out-of-town guests hated it

Offers an exceptionally good value for steaks, chops, seafood, and drinks. Service is mostly very good. Never found a surly waiter.
