Nice atmosphere; food was excellent
Went on a Tuesday night. Restaurant was not crowded and it was a pleasant atmosphere. I had the prix fixe dinner of escargots, red snapper and ice cream; my wife had the calamari for the appetizer, the barramundi for the main course and berries for dessert. Food was outstanding. Service was good and non-obtrusive. Very nice dining experience. I am upgrading the overall experience from my previous dining experience from a 3 to a 5.

What's happened to Epernay?
This used to be my very favorite restaurant in Montclair but when I went a few weeks ago, I was terribly disappointed. The onion soup was over-salted, my steak was tough and chewy, my daughter's fish was over-cooked. They forgot to bring our dessert and coffee. What a shame -- it used to be such a treat.
